The new introduced species named “Poapratensis L.cv.Haibo” was breedingsuccessfully by Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences,CAAS.It was certified by the Variety Certification Committee of Gansu Province in 2013.Registration No.GCS007.
“Poapratensis L. cv. Haibo” is a perennial herb which underground rhizome is developed. Newly introduced variety reduces the cost of planting by breeding seeds itself. The characteristics of It’s strong drought resistance and slow life reduce largely the cost of maintenance that makes great significance in the pasture production.The variety has soft leaves, moderate blade width, dark green luster color, and its grass layer of sod is neat uniform, green period was long, lawn landscape effect was good, which can be used for planting all kinds of lawn.It’s important to know that the regional test results showed the Poapratensis L. cv. Haibo has good ecological adaptability in half arid area, Semi-humid zone of the Loess Plateau and desert oasis region in Hexi corridor area. It also has strong ability resistance in drought, cold and trampling, with long green period，normal breeding and low maintenance.
