Major Academic Achievements
Vaccine for Bovine mastitis
The project established the pathogen strains library of bovine mastitis and revealed the infections characteristic and bacteria epidemiology of bovine mastitis in large samples by investigating the main risk factors, incidence, pathogenic bacteria flora distribution of bovine mastitis, and thus provided basis for clinical diagnosis and prevention. A LMT (Lanzhou Mastitis Test) was developed for subclinical mastitis, and multivalent vaccine was developed for the prevention of mastitis based on the main pathogen strains of bovine mastitis.
Herbal Agents for control of Bovine postpartum uterine diseases
The project revealed the infections characteristic and bacteria epidemiology of bovine endometritis in large samples by investigating the main risk factors, incidence, pathogenic bacteria flora distribution of bovine endometritis, and thus provided basis for clinical diagnosis and therapy. An herbal agent “Qing Gong Liquid” was developed for treatment of bovine endometritis based on traditional Chinese veterinary medicine theory.
Control of Bovine fertility
The project firstly investigated the relationship between traditional Chinese veterinary medicine and animal fertility based on traditional Chinese veterinary medicine theory and Western medicine theory, and thus provided basis for the development of innovative herbal agents and clinical therapy. An herbal formula “Chan Fu Kang” was developed to reduce the risk of occurrence of postpartum diseases and improve the overall puerperal healthy status. An herbal agent “Cui Qing Zhu Yun Liquid” was developed to control and prevent of poor fertility associated with ovarian dysfunction in dairy cattle.
