“2011 International Training Workshop on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine for Developing Countries” was held at Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences on July 12th, 2011.
Following main leaders and experts attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches: Dr. LI Pei, Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Science and Technology of China; Dr. HUO Hongwei, Department of International Talent Training of International Communication Center of China; MAO Manjun, the Deputy Director of Gansu province Department of Science and Technology; FENG Dongxin, the Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation of CAAS; ZHANG Baojun, the Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Gansu People’s Government. YANG Zhiqiang, the General Director of Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of CAAS, gave a speech on behalf of the guests and expressed warm welcome to the students from all countries. ZHANG Jiyu, the Deputy Director of the institute hosted the ceremony. LIU Yongmin, the Secretary of Party Committee of the institute, and training teachers attended the ceremony.
The training workshop was organized by Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Science and Technology Exchange Center of China, Gansu Province Department of Science and Technology, which was sponsored by Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of CAAS. Thirty students from The United Arab Emirates, North Korea, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Brazil, Thailand, Spain, as well as Taiwan and Hongkong of China, will be trained on the basic theory and clinical technology of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine for a 20-day course. It is the 6th International Training Workshop on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine for Developing Countries sponsored by the institute since 2005. TCVM is a great treasure of the national culture of China, we are dedicated to spread its theory and technology, with the aim of enhancing the international communication with other developing countries in the political, cultural, economic and scientific aspects, amplifying the impact of TCVM culture, promoting international development of TCVM, as well as carrying forward national culture to the world.
